What is the meaning of my life?

What is the meaning of my life? God created you: He thought of you, He formed you, and He knitted you together in your mother’s womb. The meaning of your life is to love Him, to become like Him, and to enjoy being with Him.

Who Am I?

You are God’s precious and magnificent creation, designed to perfection for a very specific purpose. You were designed to be connected to Him, to be connected to others, and to live out your destiny of becoming like Him and enjoying Him.

What is right and wrong?

The Bible is the only trustworthy way to know what is truly right and wrong. By knowing and doing what is in the Bible, we can live fulfilling and purposeful lives, even while we are in this fallen and broken world. Everyone has a different experience and opinion about what is right and wrong – but there is only one way to know real truth, and it was given to us by the One Who made us and knows what is best for us. God doesn’t change, and His standard for us doesn’t shift with the tides of opinions and emotions and politics.

If there is a God, how come so many bad things happen to good people?

God created a perfect world for us, and gave us perfect relationships with Him and with each other – but we ruined that world (and continue to ruin it) by rebelling against Him. The world we live in now is full of broken people that cause pain, and we live on a broken planet that causes pain. We believe that one day Jesus will return for His people, and that when He does there will be no more pain, and no more tears, and everything will be made new and right.

How can I leave a legacy?

The only way to leave a true and lasting legacy is by fulfilling the purpose for which you were born: knowing and enjoying God, and becoming like Jesus Christ. Everything else is temporary and will eventually be forgotten. It doesn’t matter how smart you are, how rich you are, how loving you are- it will all be forgotten and will fade into history and mean nothing. The only thing that will last is your relationship with God, and only what you do through your relationship with Him will be eternal and lasting.

What happens after death?

The spirit of all human beings is an eternal spirit, created for more than the flesh and blood that we are clothed in. When our physical body dies, our spirit will either be with God forever, or will be separated from God forever. We can’t imagine what it will be like being separated from God, but what the Bible tells us is that this will be like being on fire, and in constant torment. We also can’t imagine what it will be like being with God, and not limited by our fallen and broken human bodies- but the Bible tells us that it will be wonderful and endless and glorious. Either way- the choice of where we will be after we die is entirely ours.

Is there such thing as ‘destiny’?

Yes. You were created for a destiny- you were created to become like Jesus and to be with Jesus forever. You are responsible for your choices, and you are responsible for the relationship that you have with a God Who wants to be involved in your choices, and wants to be involved in your life. No matter what your past is, no matter what your skills are, if you choose Him, you can fulfil your destiny of becoming like Him, and living the destiny that He designed specifically for you.

How Do I Speak to God? Can He hear me?

God will hear those who speak to Him with a humble heart, and He is above the natural world- He is super-natural. He doesn’t require you to be in a certain place for Him to hear you. You can be on the bus, or at the beach, or in a church or in a shopping centre- God is everywhere all the time. He can hear your thoughts – you don’t have to speak out loud, although you can if you want to. God has also spoken to us and has told people to write down what He has said to us - His words are found in the Bible. He has also placed His Spirit in people. Read the Bible to find out Who He is, and seek out those who believe in Him to help you on your journey.

I have done a lot of wrong things. Can guilt ever be truly taken away?

Yes. Every single human being makes mistakes, and at some point in our lives we all hurt people at varying degrees. Jesus- Who was God clothed in flesh – made it very clear that if we can be humble enough to say what we have done wrong, and to ask Him to make us right, and follow after Him in a new way from that point onwards, that we can be made as clean and as white as snow. The consequences of what we have done might still be a reality, but our hearts can be made clean and we can live a life that is free of our past, and free of guilt, no matter what we have done. If we can accept that this is the truth, we can be set free, and this is a real and lasting promise straight from God’s heart to ours.

Why is it that so many Christians seem like hypocrites?

When we are made clean by Jesus and become His follower, we still continue to live in a fallen world, with a mind, heart and body that is broken. We all make mistakes, and none of us will be perfect until Jesus comes back to make us perfect. In the meantime, we aim for progress, not perfection, and sometimes that means that we stuff up. That’s not an excuse- it’s just a reality - so we keep our eyes fixed on Him and on the goal that all followers of Jesus aim for, and this is to become more like Him every day.
